The Residents Meeting held at the Phoenix Centre on 2nd November 2009 had a very good attendance of residents. Also present was our local P.C.S.O, our Neighbourhood Wardens, a representative from Test Way Housing and Cllr D. Macdonald.
Issues of concern which were raised by the residents were:-
- The lack of parking facilities on both of the estates
- Bad lighting in certain areas
- Repeated vandalism of a resident’s car
- Mini motor bikes being ridden around the estates
- A crash barrier between Churchil Way and Pilgrims Way
- A barrier on the pathway near the shops in Colenzo Drive
- A footpath between the Swallow and Tesco’s along Pilgrims Way
- One resident would like a CCTV system near the underpass between Pilgrims Way and Colenzo Drive and a light at the top of the pathway
All the points have been noted and are now in the hands of Testway Housing and our local Councilor.
A big thanks to all the residents and also to Cllr Macdonald and Doreen Thomas of Testway Housing for taking the time to attend the meeting.
To all residents, the meetings do work if you attend them as we don’t know all the problems if you don’t tell us.
The next meeting will be on Monday 11th January 2010 at 7pm so please make a note in your diary.
Hope to see you all there; let us all work together for our community.
