Youth Club Meeting

In my view the presentation was an out and out success.

When I reach the part where the target audience is whooping with glee or punching the air with clenched fist shouting as one, ‘WE ARE LUCKY’

Then I know as a campaigner for changing one’s attitudes to one of Gratitude, my job is almost done and then, is the time, to talk about LITTER.

All the children and the grown ups assisting could do nothing but agree with me, that we all have too much.   That if we were happy there would be no need to drop, anything that we have bought for the purpose of liquid or food or confectionary transient pleasure.

The Campaign is specific in that it does not use the word litter in its title.    Because even if people do not pick up litter for me, but they change their attitudes to one of realising how lucky they are, and so They Wont Drop Litter.    Then I have succeeded.

Every single young person that attended that meeting that night received prizes some of them received more than one, depending on the answers to the questions they gave, at the end, and during, my presentation.    They all have promised to bring more of their friends, to any other presentations that I do.   I suspect that might have more to do with the fun we had, and the prizes than, the fact that they might have to go on a litter pick, though.

To conclude as I said those children will probably never forget me, and one girl in particular collected china face dolls, so when she was given one as a prize she was ecstatic.  

For me though the highlight of the afternoon, was when one girl received the giant teddy, and she told me ”it’s comforting to cuddle up to it”    Thereby proving conclusively that it does not matter, how much we have in material wealth, no one is immune to winning something /anything for getting an answer right.
